Eco-friendly and organic wedding gowns are a growing trend for women with a conscience. This clip from theKnot.com showcases four bridal dresses from designer Adele Wechsler that are completely green and totally glamourous.

Years ago Adele Wechsler designed her first collection of eco-friendly wedding gowns and called it ‘Hallo Africa.’ This came from her desire to create a more humanitarian collection of beautiful gowns. The beading was done in Africa by women at home earning fair-trade wages. Adele says she wanted, and still wants, brides to have the opportunity to show they care about the world they live in.

Words do not do these gowns justice. It is better to watch the video to see how stunning and stylish these four gowns actually are.

The first is made from organic silk and hemp. Silk and hemp are both entirely natural fibres. The gown called ‘mother nature’ has design features of petals and sea foam to reflect its inherent nature.

The second gown is also made from organic silk and hemp. ‘Primrose’ is a column dress overlayed with silk chiffon, and has a more modern look. Adele explains she wanted the look and feel of the gown to be reminiscent of water and ocean waves.

The third dress ‘swan lake’ is one of Adele’s most popular. Again silk and hemp are the base fabrics, with accents of organza and satin, freshwater pearls and crystals.

The fourth and final gown showcased is from the ‘chrysalis’ collection. It transforms from a full length wedding gown to a sexy, sassy cocktail dress for the evening celebrations.

It’s down to designers like Adele who are using organic, natural fabrics to make style statements that people are really getting wise to green alternatives in their fashion choices. Classy clothes that do not cost the earth, nor harm the earth. Thank you Adele!
